"I’ve had a pacemaker since the age of nine. My first pacemaker was implanted in 1978 after my second open-heart surgery to correct Tetralogy of Fallot. I enjoy operating the club and meeting other "wired" people from around the world.  I live an active life in New Brunswick, Canada with my wife and two sons.  Our favorite family activities include camping, biking and alpine skiing"

"I’ve been a fan of the Pacemaker Club site since I received a pacemaker in August 2001.  I work on our internet site at the office and I recently received my Web Site Design Certificate from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  I enjoy helping out with the site."

"My name is Harrison and I am 17 years old. I'm from Boston, Massachusetts. I have self-corrected tranverse position of the greater arteries and complete heart block. I had my first pacemaker implanted at the age of 10, and have had two other surgeries since. I live an active life and try to participate in as many activities as possible. I enjoy playing golf and going to Fenway Park for a Red Sox game. I enjoy helping others on this site."

"I live in Washington state and after graduating from high school this coming June 07 will go to college to study biology for pre med. I got my pacemaker on June 4, 2004 and had a revision surgery July 27, 2004. We now know my heart problems were caused by a brain malformation which I have undergone brain and spinal cord surgery for. Since I’ve gotten my device I have just been fascinated by them and the entire heart. This website has helped me because it is so incredibly full of support and help, from people who understand each other, which is what new and old pacers need most. I love being able to help give back to the place that helped me so much."

"I’m from Brooklyn, NY. I received my pacer for symptomatic bradycardia. I’ve been an athlete all of my life, so I was "shocked" to find out that I need a pacemaker. The doctors were right!  I do feel so much better, but I still think about it a lot. The mental adjustment is the hardest part. It’s nice to see others have volunteered to help out with the site."

"I’ve had a pacemaker since I was 4 years old due to stoke adams attack (congenital heart block). I grew up in Birmingham, UK, but have been living for many years in Switzerland. When I grew up there weren’t many people with a pacemaker, let alone children or young adults so it’s been great for me to have found this site and so many people with pacemakers. This site is so interesting and if I can help anyone then I will gladly do so. Fantastic place!"

"I’m 21 years old and I’m from Anaheim, California. I have a pacemaker for a complex junctional rhythm, which took six years to diagnose (implanted November 3, 2006). I developed a pacemaker infection and had it moved to the other side on December 26, 2006. This site helped me tremendously during that time. I’m now on the road to recovery and I feel wonderful! Recently I’ve been working on my pre-med courses and studying for my MCATs. I plan to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine and musical composition. I enjoy rollerblading, playing softball, piano and violin. If you’re looking for answers/support, you’ve come to the right place."
