I have a friend who's a radiologist and I asked him about these. He said the pm is not the problem, it's the leads. Your pm will come through the MRI just fine, but the leads can do serious damage to your heart. Radiologists are split over whether this is safe or not.
It's true

I asked my EP if he can put in the kind of pacemaker that would allow patients to undergo MRI's and he told me not in my case since my leads are different kind.
So yes, it is all based on the kind of pacer leads you have.
