New to ICD
Posted by ltrivone on 2009-11-04 14:04

One week ago today I had a Medtronic ICD implanted and have so many issues and questions to deal with. The decision for an ICD as very sudden after I died during the EP Study. I would love to speak with someone that has had a similar experience. I live in Staten Island, New York. My cell phone number is (917) 297-3830 and my name is Lorraine. If you think you might be able to help, please give me a call.

Thanks,
Lorraine

I was 44 yr.old, and went into for a "routine" EP study and died during my EP study also.....had a heart rate of 421 bpm before I croaked..."I spent 3 days in CCU on a morphine drip...had to wait for a specific pacemaker, I take Coreg CR 40mg, and the hospital had to send out for the medicine, it seems no one has ever been on that high of a dosage at the hospital " and it's a Heart only hospital" they don't work on anything else....I thought that was funny when the nurse came back and said they have never had anyone on such a high dosage, so they don't keep any in stock.....anyway, now I'm 46, and got Zapped twice in a minute back in september a month or so ago.....I thought I got hit by lightning....and I just got turned down this Tuesday by the Social Security Board for Disability they said I was alive enough to work part time and make atleast $980 a month after taxes......I smell an appeal...... I have an EF less than 30%, 100% blocked right main artery, 40% block left main artery, very high risk for SCD, chronic asthma, 5 hernia operations, fingers sewn back on, hematoma removed from skull, knee surgery like Tiger Woods plus more.......I'm taking 6mg of xanax a day to keep my adrenaline level low, to help relax me, I'm the hyper type........anyway, your not alone, I went in for the test at 5:30am and thought I'd be back to work by noon...Then my employer let me go the same day the Cardiologist told me to file for disability, so now I haven't worked in 4 months and have gone through my savings, and denied disability,I am now a month behind in my mortgage, I now wish they would have just let me stay dead that day, when I lose my house is probably when I'll give up.......Sorry I didn't mean to cheer you up so much.......Hang in there, if you didn't need it , you wouldn't have one......good luck.....see ya on the other side......
