New heart monitor

We received a new Boston Scientific heart monitor to hook up for Ryan, they say it has to be next to his bed not more then 8ft. away. We've been reading the booklet on it sure does sound confusing...does anyone have one ?

I received my new one about a week apart. No problem, you just connect it to a phone jack and AC power. You send it in the old way the first time by holding the pickup coil over your device. After that it will just read out your data whenever they desire as long as it is within 8 feet of where you sleep. It will usually take place at 4 am in the morning.

With the new continuous monitors I have this image of the paramedics crashing through the door in the middle of the night because it picked up a neighbors wireless network.

I'm about to get a replacement pacer and I intend to make it clear that I don't want one of those monitors as part of it.
