This is not a website designed to discuss politics. This site is for people from countries all over the world, of many diverse races, colors and religions to share their fears, knowledge and experience about heart problems. Why don't you racists start a KKK website to post this junk.

 

Thankfully free speach is alive and well in the US which is why even if one does not agree with someone, they still have the right to say it. And thankfully people do say what they think, and sometimes people even vote with those same minds. However, accusing someone who is speaking their mind of being racist when no comment of race or creed has been mentioned in any manner is uncalled for.
Also, just because someone cannot afford health insurance does not automatically mean that other people are paying for your health care. I am majorly underinsured, but have personally paid for all of my medical bills including ER visits. I may use the hospital payment plan, but I pay it and even take side jobs to pay them off. The hospital even originally refused to allow me on a payment plan because I really could not afford it, but I'm paying. And I'm a republican and agree with the need for some form of universal health care, but not with punishing people who are underinsured, or paying for one more person who is in this country illegally. My opinion. Doesn't make me a hater. If I was a senator I would be voting for health care reform...it's not like any system the government sets up works anyhow regardless of the president. Why do you think that all the senate and congress have their own health care plan that will be unaffected by this new deal?

Why do you folks who keep on injecting politics into this website try to justify your off-topic propaganda by claiming it is "free speech"? Of course we are all for free speech. It's just that this site is supposed to be about pacemakers and not about whether you like Obama or not. We are trying to get our hearts to calm down, not speed up.

 

I agree with you Ted, but they keep coming here with it, don't they? They talk about free speech but that means free speech for themselves, not for those of us who disagree with them. I'm getting very tired of this myself.

 

I have a suggestion for all of you that don't like the subject of some of the messages you see here. If you will give me the name of the big ape that forces you tread them and I'll put a stop to that right now. Or there are a couple of other things you can do.

One is use the up or down arrow keys and move on to another subject. If you don't want to do that there is something called "back" in the upper left hand corner of your monitor, double click on it and all this will go away.

Believe me the arrow keys or the "back" button will work because I have used them many, many times on all sorts of messages and comments I have seen here, especially the political BS that crops up from time to time.

I can't believe that some of you don't realize that the only reason people post some of this crap is just for the purpose of getting a rise out of their opposition and then laugh like the devil when some of you take the bait the bait.

 

You insult our intelligence by telling us your fairy tale that the Obama haters are posting their trash here in order to have a laugh. If this venom is posted for a laugh, why is it not posted in a website dedicated to comedy or sick jokes?

But then I wouldn't have any thing to read and laugh about when I see comments that say to me some people must be turning red in the face and stuttering as the read what is being said about their beloved politician. I just became a member of Pacemakers. I am having a defibrillator implanted tomorrow morning. What a disappointment it is to find this hateful, misguided and ignorant political trash here. Not what I expected at all.

 

Don't let a few people on here turn you away from this great site. Unfortunately you have zeroed in on this group of postings and trust me this is not the norm!! Oh sure there will be some who will continue to spout their political beliefs and try to convince us we should believe the same as they do but as I said it is not the norm! Most of the people on here are a wonderful, supportive group of people who we can vent to, get advice from, listen to, share humor with and in general just be there for each other when no other person understands what it's like to have a pacemaker/defib. I know my recovery physically and emotionally would not have gone as well if I had not found this great group. Every issue I had someone on here had also had and they listened to me and gave me great advice. I've made some great e-mail buddies here too. I was hoping that I had just joined with poor timing. Support groups can indeed be wonderful if people are involved for the right reasons.
