Hi Waldo.

What was the reason the doctor(s) gave you a pacemaker to begin with?

When you have your pacemaker interrogated, ask for the printout and on it, it should tell you exactly how much you are pacing in a percentage..if not, ask!!

About the new feelings you are having: ask your cardiologist for a Holter Monitor or an Event/Loop Recorder. Even better: ask for an ultrasound of your heart or a MIBI test.

good luck.

What did the doctor tell you the pacemaker would stop, the bradycardia, the palpations, or both?

For me the bradycardia was defined as when my heart rate dropped below 60. My pacemaker did stop the bradycardia, but it did nothing for the palpations. My experience is normal according to what I understand for a pacemaker and the two symptoms.

thx pookie and jb

im not sure if im doing this right because im new to this sight but here goes.when i went in for the palps they told me my heart rate was around 30 when i was sleeping.my doctor said that a pacer would fix both of my problems.it keeps my heart rate at 60 when im sleeping but during the day its above that.ive had ultrasound done they said it looked normal.it didnt stop my initial complaint of the palps.when they put my pacemaker in they pierced my heart and sent me home bleeding inside almost didnt make it.had to have open heart 4 days later so i havnt let the doctors touch me since.now what im worried about is these palps causing more problems like inlargement of the heart. ive made an appointment with a electrophsiologist next month to try and get some answers
