Hey Hey,
Well it's been 3 weeks now and I am beginning to have my doubts. Mornings are the worst. I just can't seem to get going anymore. I stay active but man its a drag sometimes. It's not the meds because I don't take any. Anyway, I just wanted to vent a little frustration. I am concerned though that the PM looks like it has moved some. I am suspecting that may be normal but I thought I would check on here and maybe get some feedback before I called the doc. to check. You people that speak from first hand experience have helped me more than you can ever imagine. Nothing else I have searched anywhere can compare. Thank You!

Moved, how? In a good or bad way? It may shift around a bit as the swelling goes down and the scar tissue builds up around it. If it's not painful or in the way, I wouldn't worry about it.
Your energy should come back soon! Don't try to overdo it, three weeks isn't that long and your body needs time to recover and adjust. Pushing it just prolongs how long it takes to get back to 100%. Are you just tired or symptomatic like sob or dizzy? I got my pm replaced last week and got a new lead. I feel really good now, but I zonk out every day after lunch for a long nap. I don't fight it, I figure my body's telling me something.

Thanks Tracey,
It lookes like it is tilted somewhat from the way it was but it hasn't bothered me any more than it has been. The swelling has definetely gone way down. I feel more lazy when I first wake up and I stay that way until I take a brisk walk, or whatever to get the blood pumping. Also, It seems like I have some trouble staying focused on doing one thing at a time. I hope that goes away. Wow you got your pm replaced last week. Was the battery low or other problems? Does the scar get bigger every time one is replaced? I am glad you are feeling good right now and hope that continues.

This is my 4th pm. The battery was low and one of my leads was broken, the bad lead killed the battery quickly so we waited until it was about dead and replaced both at the same time. The scar stays about the same! It'll be red and bumpy for a while but within 6 or 8 months it flattens and gets white again. It's pretty numb, I haven't really felt much of anything around it since the second replacement. I have a new incision this time for the new lead, they put it in a different vein than the others. It still has the tape stuff on it so I can't really tell how it's going to look yet.
How you feel when you wake up shouldn't have anything to do with what your pm is doing unless maybe the soreness is keeping you awake at night?
Point out that it's tilted when you have your next appt. If it's not more painful than it was, I wouldn't bother calling or making a special trip.

Yes, it is possible.
If you are really concerned about it, ask your doctor to send you for a chest Xray and get them to compare it to the one they took right after having your pacemaker surgery.
That is how I found out mine moved.
However, Tracey is also correct, after the swelling goes down it does feel like it has moved as you were probably used to it like that, now that the swelling is gone, it might appear different, but if fact, maybe it didn't move at all...know what I mean.?
When in doubt....have it checked out.

feeling sluggish? did you have anaesthetic? if so, sometimes it takes some people a few weeks to feel normal again after being "knocked out".
Or it could be just part of your recovery process, your body is trying to heal and your body needs the rest.
If it persists, consult with your doctor.
and your pacemaker might need some adjustments as well.

Mine moved, too

My pacemaker moved a couple months after I got it, after a particularly vigorous session of physical therapy for my shoulder (which I apparently kept too still after getting the PM). It seemed to rotate so the place where the leads are attached were pointed in a somewhat different direction. I was very concerned about it, but asked the EP staff and they said it was fine. Actually, it turned out to be better that way since it had been poking me a little before, so maybe the physical therapist inadvertently freed it up to shift into a more comfortable position. Anyway, as always, call the doctor's office if something doesn't seem right to you.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. My next appt in next Tues. I have a list of questions I need answers to. After the first 5 minutes of surgery I don't remember anything, so I guess I did get knocked out. I sleep okay, still a nuisance but just hard to get going the next morning. I am used to bouncing out of bed at 5am raring to go. Now it takes a stick of dynamite to get me up at 6.
