I recieved a two lead pacer (Bos. Sci.) a year ago because my heart rate was 35 to 40. The V.A. said, "I had heart block". After 9 monthes of complaining that something was not right, they decided I DID NOT have heart block after all. So, the lower lead was turned off. I'm now in AAI (R) mode. If anyone can share any information on AAI (R) it would be greatly appreicated because I'm still having problems.
Thank You Very Much

Your heart rate was low!!!

I too had a pacemaker (Medtronic) dual lead because my heart was below 60 during the day and went into the low 30s while I slept. I've had my pacemaker since November of 2004 and have never felt better only worse. However!!!...I've kept on my doctors and now they are trying to figure out if I have Junctional Rhythm or not. I was also told I have Heart Block & Sick Sinus Syndrome.

I was also told that my "complaints" of my heart thumping & pounding, the shortness of breath, the extreme fatigue and the dizziness was because I had Ectopic Atrial Beats. I've discovered during the years that every specialist I see has a different opinion.!!! on what I have too which is more than frustrating.

To make a long story short: I've found that you really have to educate yourself the best you can and find a doctor who is willing to work with you as a team.

You mention you are still having problems, but didn't say what they are...can you or would you share with us what these problems are, so that perhaps some of us could better suggest or help point you in the right direction.

And just curious: what is a VA?

Pookie

Pookie, thank you for responding. I should have spelled it out, the V.A. is the Veteran Administration (Hospital).

AAI means that you are sensed in the atria, paced in the atria, and it inhibits when it senses a atria beat. The R is the rate response.
