Hey,
I get it all the time. I've been told it's a muscle thing since i too have no swelling and BP and pulse are fine. I would suggest checking with you doctor to be sure. do you walk a lot or excercise?

Are you taking statins (Lipitor, Zocor, Vytorin, Crestor to name a few) drugs to lower your cholesteroll. The most common side of theses is pain. You may feel this pain as a soreness, tiredness or weakness in your muscles. The pain can be a mild discomfort, or it can be severe enough to make your daily activities difficult. For example, you might find climbing stairs or walking to be uncomfortable or tiring. If you think this is your problem see your doctor.

Yes I do walk... and no I don't take any meds at all
I didn't have this achey legs thing until after I got the PM
so I wondered if maybe it had something to do with it
THank you for your answers...:)
I will probably call my Dr and have it checked out

Achey Leg Pain ~ ~

A year before I knew I needed a PM, the calvesin my legs, of my left leg in particular, started hurting so bad, like I had an infection running thru. The left leg hurt so bad that to stand or even try to stand, it would make me cry. I even found a walker to get around my house with. This went on for at least a couple of months. My GP did not know what I was talking about and why I could not explain my pain/problem to him better.

I had been taking cholestoral med. for years so this was not new. I still do not know where/why, but I do know I can not stand for long periods of time or shop/walk long on cement like floors, ie, WalMart, grocery stores, etc. without my legs hurting and feeling like they would "give out"/fold anytime, even to this day.

breezy: If you find an answer from your Dr., please "post" again. I am sure there are some of us who have no good answers. Mine might have been related to some other "oddity", just because ~ ~ .

Hi Breezy

As noted above the cholestrol med can make you feel achey. I tried all the cholestrol lowering drugs but all had the same affect - achey and felt like i had the flu. Only thing I could take was niaspan and that was difficult taking 2000 mg / day to get my cholestrol down into the 80's or 90's. in june my heart doctor told me to start taking CO Q 10 (a neutrient supplement) and boy did that ever make a difference. I started out taking 50 mg, then 100 mg and now at 200 mg. I am also able to take 5 mg of crestor / day and not have any problems. My cholestrol is lower than its ever been and I feel great. As always talk to your doctor before adding any new meds or neutrients.

Good luck

Tom

Achey Legs

Hi.

My problem started after the pacer....about 2 yrs after.

First it started off with my feet having edema that would come and go.

Then the edema came back full time and decided it wanted to climb up my calves. That is when my family doctor put me on Hydrochlorothiazi (12.5mgs, the lowest dose) and it worked like a charm for about a year.

For the past several months it's the back of my legs that are bothering me...it's like the tendons are too tight. Sometimes I get pins and needles and sometimes I don't. Several times my left leg goes completely dead.

I mentioned this to my family doctor last week and she is sending me for a CT scan of my lower back as she says this sounds more like a pinched nerve since my legs are not that swollen. Plus I do feel a pinch in my left groin. I sit a lot, so perhaps I'm cutting the blood flow off to my legs. Plus I cross my legs while sitting too.

It just amazes me that after having my pacemaker I've had nothing but problem after problem...big ones, little ones, perhaps it's just age.

Pookie
