Wow! That takes a lot of committment and dedication to quit anything "cold turkey", much less a habit of 35 years. You are a good, strong person to do this.
Your family seems to mean a lot to you by reading your "profile". I know they love, honor and respect you for being such a Lady and quitting for their sakes also.
Hang in There. Let us hear from you and "post" us if you need our "chit-chat". You are a Saint. God Bless,

good for you!

it's the rouhest thing i had to do, i stopped for about 6 months after my heart attack, but the habit crept back, it took my debif to fire to really make me stop, now i'm 3 or 4 years, but still love the smell and dream of the bad habit.
Yay!

Good for you! That's a WONDERFUL decision!!!!
You can do it! I saw both of my parents die from smoke related illnesses. It was a very painful, emotional lesson for them, their children and grandchildren. My dad smoked and my mom didn't. My dad died very quickly but my mom suffered for years.
So glad you made this decision! It will add years to YOUR life and most likely your family tree when they see what you've done!
WAY TO GO!!!

2 months and 5 days that impressive, smoking has got to be one of the hardest habits to kick, definitely not an easy thing to do.
Stick with it it does get easier.

I quit cold turkey 3 years ago, after 3-5 packs a day (most of them just burn away without puffing on them, what a waste) for 27 years.......Congrats, and keep it up.......
Always remember to never have that first one of the day.
Thanks so much
