Gratitudes
Posted by TraceyE on 2010-02-15 18:31

I'm a bit contrary... too many negative posts make me want so scream something positive. I want everyone to post 3 positive statements, things you are grateful for. Even if you're having a bad day, you can surely come up with something to be grateful for. I'll go first...

1. I am grateful I'm allowed to drive before the full month is up and that my new lead fit on the same side as my old leads.

2. I'm grateful for my girl scout troop. Spent the whole day with them today and love watching what lovely young ladies they're growing in to. They raised enough money to buy 8 cases of cookies which we delivered to a home at the local hospital, similar to a Ronald McDonald house it's there for the families of critically ill children. Cookies are a small thing overall, but it brought a lot of smiles and I'm so proud of my girls.

3. I'm grateful for my dogs because no matter how bad you feel or how hard the day was, it's hard not to smile at their enthusiastic greeting and silly antics.

4. Tylenol and pinot grigio, because perhaps the great day with with the scouts was just a wee bit more than I should have been doing today :o)

Your turn!! I don't care how bad your day was, you CAN think of three things you are grateful for.

Hi Tracey,
What a great idea!!!
1. I'm grateful for this little piece of metal that allows me to have my life back.
2. I'm grateful for my family even though they're probably the cause of most of my arrhythmias.
3. I'm grateful for the wonderful people I've connected with on this website. I'm not sure how I would have gotten to this point without them.
Unlike you, I'm not exactly grateful for my dog. He's a pain in the a%$%. Oops!! Sorry!!! Think Positive.

I'm blessed to know that I am loved by others.

I'm blessed to have friends/family who will drive me around when I can't drive.

I'm blessed to have found this club 3 years ago and have became friends with some wonderful people.

I'm blessed that God created people to have the knowledge and means to create medications that take away pain.

I like this post you created Tracey. It's always a great reminder to look at all the positive instead of all the negative I forget to do that sometimes in life.

Love to all,
Tammy

I have several positive things to say
but I will just say three :)

1. I am happy for my GOD,my hubby and kids
My Pastor and my church group and many friends.

2. I am happy to get up every morning and open the blinds and see the ocean right out in front of me. Bad weather or good weather... I am alive to see it:)

3. I love our weiner doggies with their playful fun and happy moments... they never left my side when I came home from the hospital... in fact one of them went and slept in my suitcase until I got home.... we were not at home when I landed in the hospital... I am grateful that we were at our daughters house...

Much more... but won't list it all....
thanks for the good idea TraceyE :)
we all need to count our blessings... good times and bad times and at all times :)

Great Thoughts Fellow PM Club Members. Bless You.

1. Grateful to wake up/open eyes each morn. This is to know I have just another day to help someone in need, who is ill or is just needing a Big Bear hug/smile.

2. Grateful for my families/friends who have been so wonderful to me all my life and have stood by me with big hugs on the loss of my Blessed husband 6 yrs. ago.

3. Grateful to be able to "adopt" two different military people to send "stuff" to in their "Goodie Boxes". It is so much fun to shop for contents of the boxes & to celebrate their big events w/them. One is a male in the Navy on a Nuclear Sub and the other is a female in the Air Force Police in Iraq. A lot of the military do not have families/friends who correspond w/them and this is something I love to to on their tours of duties to keep our USA soil safe. They love when the "mail plane" arrives. I am grateful to have this opportunity. I learned of these two through a friend of a friend of a friend ~ ~

4. Grateful for all my newest and bestest friends in the PM Club all over the world. Without your input on all "posts", negative/positive, I would not have a clue what is going on w/PM, doctors, meds, etc. THNX.

5. Grateful for having one of the Grandest families in the world. Grateful for my two children, especially grateful for my 2 Grandboys who I enjoy so much as their Grandparent at their Boy Scout events, athletic events and all other events/stuff/"trouble" we can get in.

This ol' Grandmother/Lady could go on about millions of wonderful things, but as you know, this could get into my idol "chit-chat" and lengthy about nuttin'.

Hugs/Kisses and Bear Hugs to All of YOU,
Carolyn G. in TEXAS THINK: Spring Flowers

So much to be thankful for but 3 really important ones to me are:

1) Being able to retire before having to have PM because if I had to have it earlier I would have been devastating to me and my career.

2) The Crimson Tide of Alabama winning its 13th National Championship in football in January.

3) Pacemaker Club

1~I am thankful for a God who led me to the right doctors!

2~ I am thankful for a husband who has taken over home schooling, driven me around, waited on me, listened to me whine & cry, done laundry for a family of 6, taken over all other household chores, & is cooking dinner!

3~I am thankful for all of the support I have found here & all of the wonderful people I have met!

4~I am thankful I don't have a dog, 4 boys is enough for me!

3. I am thankful for the health and miracles God has given me.

And one more...

4. I am thankful God is steering me in the right direction. It's been a rough road but I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....and I don't think it's heaven! :-) I'm pretty sure it's sunshine....AND LOTS OF IT!!

Great idea!

I'm grateful for each day I get to spend with my kids and pray I'll see them into adulthood (10 more years).

I'm grateful for every hill I've stood on since i got my pacemaker.

I'm grateful God gave me this burden to carry and didn't give it to one of my children- I would have struggled with that more..

Attitude of Gratitude

I'm grateful for:

1. The Internet! Isn't it amazing! I wouldn't know some of you if you walked in the door, but I feel like many of you are my friends!

2. Sleep! Isn't it a miracle that you can feel all trashed and crabby and weary and go to bed and wake up refreshed? Well, even somewhat refreshed. I really can make decisions better when I "sleep on them"

3. My faith in God, I don't know what I'd do without that!

And one more, for good measure:

4. For Tracey for starting this uplifting discussion! Way to go!

Gratitudes Each Day ~ ~

Comment posted by Carolyn65 on 2010-02-16 22:24.
I wish this column could be in the daily "posts" as a continuing reminder to us and allow us to "post" at will, AND it staying in the top ten posts always.

My Gratefuls have already been posted above, but each day would be nice to post one or more "Gratefuls" from each one of us. Thanks to Tracey, she has brought the attention "up front" and reminded us of our positve attitudes for our many gratitudes.

We all need to "vent" our complications, concerns, etc. for advice from the more "tenured" PM Club friends or even the "newbies" who are and have learned a lot about their PM's. I learn a whole lot for ALL ~ ~

One more Grateful: After retiring to bed each nite,Lord and I have a lengthy "chit-chat" of all the "gratefuls" during my daily "abouts". Then I thank him for tomorrow before I go to sleep.

Keep the Gratefuls going ~ maybe we/Blake can feature a "Grateful" column or keep a "Grateful" post area to stay in the top ten last posts ~ ~

Grateful to and for all of you,
Carolyn G. in TEXAS SPRING FLOWERS

I'm Grateful for positive people.

I'm grateful for all the positive people in this group who are secure enough to not be afraid of viewpoints that they might not agree with.
I'm grateful to those here that do not try to get others to turn against their doctors just because they themselves might have had a bad experience.
I'm always grateful when people who post stuff copied from Google, say that this is where their knowledge came from so we can consider the source.
I'm grateful to Blake for what he has done for the group and for providing a forum for those with heart related issues.
Im grateful that my pacemaker battery has both a positive and a negative side, because we need both sides, not only in batteries, but also in life. Nature has rain and shine; hot and cold; darkness and light; good and bad; rich and poor; tall and short; up and down; ad infinitum.

Well... this is like something I could get into... being grateful on a daily basis... I'm reading a new book... "The Power of Nice"... a must for those looking to spif up their professional world.

Now to my list....geez I have to limit to 3??

1) Surely grateful to see a positive post from TED!!

2) My very VERY best friend Pookie, who has been my life line for 2 solid years!!! Though thick and thin.

3) My loving dear husband, Dan, who is just the best man in the entire world! For if not for him, I'd be pushing up daisies 3 yrs ago. Cuz' I'm most stubborn woman and was gonna sleep it off instead of going to ER.

More of my list later.. Ted likes it short, sweet and to the point.. so I will comply.. :O) night everyone
