Climate Change

I'm sorry to hear about the Manatees dying, but did you ever stop to think that could be Mother Nature's way of weeding out the weak in order to strengthen the species. Since long before humans got here animal life has been coming and going due to changes in the environment. I have no doubt that it will continue and sometime in the future humans will be on Mother Nature's list of species scheduled for extinction. Come to think of it, I know there have been freezes deep into Florida before and I don't recall hearing concerns about the Manatees dying.
I agree we have climate changes taken place but I do not agree that humans alone are the cause of these changes. Climate change on Earth has been taking place since the beginning of time on Earth.
The best example of this that I know of is the frozen island of Greenland. About 1,200 years ago when a group of Vikings discovered Greenland its climate was warm enough to support trees and grain crops, thus it was named Greenland. Since that time it has slowly gone into a deep freeze and is mostly a frozen land now.
Anyway do you know the source of the greatest amount of CO2 (which is the hot button right now for causing global warming) going into the atmosphere and being blamed for global warming? It is humans, because with each breath we exhale CO2 and our number on Earth increases by the thousands each day.
So, to me that says extreme birth control measures should be implemented as a means of saving the planet. Of course to go with that we need to reduce air pollution to the lowest level possible, but that is to keep polluted air from killing humans. Whup, that contradicts one of the means suggested for reducing one of the causes of air pollution.
Of course if we get the "cap and trade" measures being proposed by whomever, the population of the U.S. will be reduced. Many of us will be unable to have climate control in our homes because of the cost which will surely mean an increase in the deaths of humans, especially the old folks.
On second thought, that may not be a bad idea. If we get rid of a bunch of us old folks then our government will not have to spend so much on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to keep us alive. That would mean more money to spend on wars that are of questionable value, but would kill a lot of people and that would reduce the CO2 loading of the atmosphere.
In the meantime let's be sure of what the problem is before we bankrupt our country chasing something that may not be as bad as we are being told it is right now.

Manatees to Politics???

You must have missed the part that they are already listed as an Endangered Species....I think they need help, not weeding anymore out.....
I was not blaming man for global warming, only the help of speeding it along.....
It's not one or two nights of 40 degree weather, the manatees can handle that, in Ft.lauderdale area it has stayed in the 40's at night for over 2 weeks setting records......I'm out west we hit the 30's a couple nights.....30's in Ft.Lauderdale !!!
Manatees Need Help

No, I didn't miss that part, I ignored it after I saw your statement ".........an entire species on its way out thanks to man, screwing with the environment ..............." Of all the things I have heard man get blamed for, the climate getting colder is not one of them, so I thought a warming climate was what you were talking about.
To help the Manatee, Florida should get rid of about half the people and all of the motor boats in the Manatee habit. I looked at some weather records and Florida has seen cold weather before. Miami has had a low of 30 deg. several times over the years. The cold may not help the Manatee but it is not their only problem.
Common Sense ~ ~

Just a lil' common sense would be the solution to a lot of all the world's problems, environmentally or otherwise. Too many environmentalists/ people who think they have to RE-invent the wheel everytime one of them works on a "study" or writes, just, yet, one more book of the same ol', same ol'. Bless all of you for your efforts in helping our world. Let's all do our parts.
Yes, researches have proven a lot of good materials, answers, etc. on many concerns/problems of the world, but, as recently as in the past year, the "global warming" researches were proven to be wrong, mishandled and put in the media big time for months on end. What ever happened to that guy called Al Gore? Even Congress admitted the info. released was wrong.
IF each person would do their own "climate control" work in their own "lil world", what a much better place our world would be now and for the future generations.
GRATITUDES: Thanks to God for our beautiful world.
As I have hit the "Medicare" age, I have observed over the last 65 years, I have found that about/approximately every 20-25 years, this ol' world of ours here in the USA does a complete 360! The fashions go back to what we wore 25 years ago (those dreadful clunky high heels/bright red make-up/same puffy hair dos/etc.). There is either a health food kick, another out grown/over grown 60's like generation and the all knowing "new" generation who knows how to change the world, as re-invent the wheel, just one more thousandth time! Some of us have been down that "road" already, many moons ago.
Take care of our world responsibly and with common sense, let God take care of what you/we can not and God forbid when/should we turn to ice. Smile ~ ~
Bear Hugs to All of You and Smitty, you are right on the "nail" just one more time. THANKS ~ ~
