By my estimation, we have 10,783 members. 10,781 of whom have stated categorically they have the top Cardiologist in the world. Who's the other member besides me whose doctor is at the bottom in Cardiology?

Enquiring minds want to know

They call that person “doctor.

My cardio is Ranked #1 in my book!!!

Mmmmmm! ------ You ask a good question! My cardiologist is at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and I think he is (they are) ranked #1 (literally) in the country for heart care. I simply love him!!!

Then I read so many posts of people who write about their cardios and from what they write, I don't think theirs graduated from any big named schools nor are their practices ranked anywhere. Some of the stories about lack of care given members seems to suggest that those members should be running for the hills and away from their cardios!! Take a poll and ask them. Look at US News Hospital Rankings and find out where your cardio ranks (if they do at all).

I'm gonna call my cardio office and ask where my cardio attended med school and then I'll let you know. My guy's a real gem.

Towards the bottom

My cardiologist began to stab me with the needle before I was given any medication!!!!! Hurt like H E double hockey sticks!

So my doc. is certainly at the bottom of the list say... at 10,780
AND also because he doesn't share any information with me... the patient.

might be one

When I had surgery for Tetrology of Fallot in 1973, Dr Denton Cooley was my surgeon!!! Yep, he was the best.

I am still with his group, but I do hear that Cleveland is one of the best and is where I might go to get my pulmonary valve replaced??? I'll talk to my dr in 2 weeks.

I do travel 2 hours to see them in Houston!!! If your not comfortable w/ yours....CHANGE! Find someone you trust in the medical field and ask them who is the BEST w/ in a 2 hour drive! You are worth it!!

DO NOT SEE

If I did not get a second opinion, I would have been dead 2 months after meeting this jerk.......E.Martin Kloosterman,M.D.,F.A.C.C. , I knew he was bad news when I went into his office and all his walls were covered with nothing but family vacation pictures.( a couple ok, but everywhere)........made me think he charges alot, and is always on vacation.......My new EP, I found through real research instead of word of mouth, was in the top 5% @ Harvard (scholarship)...my cardiologist said my EP is the geekiest nerd he has ever met.....I already told you guys my EP helped patent the programs that interrogate your implants......So, don't always go with the quickest, cheapest or nicest person out there.....and look at those pictures on the wall, they tell a story of the person your letting into your heart.......haha ...pun intended....

I just sort of thought you might have piles or flatulence and you are in wrong website place.

You know I love you but think about it!!!!!!

Patch, I belive my cardiologist holds the honor of being so far down on the list that you might have to start a sub zero list.Needless to saay I am looking to find a new one that might at leaast be some were close to the bottom but not off it.

Jim From Pa, your bio says you are from Corry. I have a buddy from there...anyway. Just looking at a map now. Well it is a bit of a trek to Pittsburgh, being a former truck driver though its probably a blink of the eye. I only see my doc once or twice a year, so if you are interested in a couple of good docs in Pittsburgh I can give you the names of the docs that watch over me. I have been pleased with them so far.

Good luck.

As for the stats, a couple of years ago or so I was pretty unhappy with my doc, I now know what it is like to be a lab rat. Switched docs and all is well. In the last 30 years that I have been seeing cardiologists I have lived in small towns like Corry (in other states) and it was worth the few hour trek to see a big city doc. dumb luck that I found a good doc perhaps.

Jim, looks like Cleveland OH is about the same distance as Pittsburgh. sugarleaf4 sounds pretty happy with the docs they have up there.

cardio at the bottom?

Comment posted by edmondme on 2010-03-27 17:35.
Well I didnt say anything in a poll about my cardio surgeon being the best or not, he is an EP guy, and not a cardiologist, so he claims. I am from a small town in SC, so there are 2 EP guys here.

My guy goes with his middle name, so I guess he is trying to mask who he is;-)

I was told he is good, and he did a good job on the surgery, but never came and visited me after the surgery, his resident came to see me, and she was like "Ok you can go now!!!"

Some people say Texas has the best doctors, and KY where the artificial heart was discovered. I dont know, does it really matter if they are good, as long as you are alive after what they did?
