medical ID bracelets

Ok so with my recent hospital visit, and the nice anaphylactic reaction that I had to the CT contrast (even with being pretreated with steriods and benedryl)... I have been told to get my butt busy and get my ID bracelet. So now I have apparently two things that need to go on it... one that I have a pacemaker and two that I am allergic to IV dye. So.... I was wondering what people actually have ON their bracelet. Do you just have "pacemaker"? I am trying to decide what to put on the bracelet.. most have 6 lines.

I highly recommend american medical's online medical record. It fits a lot more than you can engrave, and you can easily update it if things change. All I have on my pm is my name, "pacemaker", my omr phone number and password. If I were you, I'd probably put "allergies" next to pm.

If you want to see what all fits on an omr, I can private message you my login so you can check it out. It holds meds, allergies, surgical history, emergency contact, insurance, even blood type and if you're an organ donor. The service is around $30 for life, or free with any purchase. I got a cheap fabric one for the gym, then used the code on my pretty id's I got elsewhere (laurens hope and n-style).

Dont know if its all that different from a reg pacemaker, but my Dr told me that my family should know what BRAND (Mine is Medtronic) , so...I put that also

Medronic / ICD

Rescuemeids.com also has cheaper plates that can fit more information. You could also buy bracelets somewhere else....Lifeway, Steinmart, Cracker Barrel.

Also for walking and sports, the Roadid.com lets you put LOTS of info on theirs and the total with shipping is less than $22.

My family has bought me several...think they were a little freaked...even though I've had heart issues all my life. I love mine from Laurens hope, but it takes me 10 minutes to get it on, so it would be worth the magnetic clasp.

Have an awesome weekend!

I just ordered from LaurensHope/N-Lifestyle. What I ordered allowed 3 lines, up to 18 letters in each line. I put I had a PM and took Warfarin, then I put in as many immediate familiy phone #'s I could w/the area code only on the first #, assuming the medic/etc. would know the other #'s would/might be the same area code since I do not really travel very far from home:

I put ~ ~ Pacemaker/Warfarin
512263420/6360341
6365012/4319856

Waiting to get these ID any day.

I got a RoadID

RoadID.com had the options I was looking for.

I ordered 2 bracelets, (velcro wrist bands) one for me that has my name, birth year, pacemaker & serial number, EP phone #, husband phone #. My husband has his name, birth year, emergency contact #s, his penicillin allergy and bee sting allergy.

I also ordered a dog tag from them (that one gives you 7 lines) Shipping through regular mail was only $1.49.

I also used the promo code PC621528SIAS for 20% off (don't know if this is still valid or not) for mytotal order.

This site just had more reasonably priced options in my opinion (even an ankle band or id that you can put on your sneaker) plus an interactive option. Check it out!
