Piggybacking off a previous question, ladies, how long did you wait after your devices were implanted before you had your mammograms?

I had my PM implant on 2/24 and I will be due in late July, making it 5 months. I will ask my doctor, but I'd rather ask those with first hand experiences...Thanks.

 

 

I've never heard of a specific time to wait, but I'd give it a little longer than 5 mos. See what your dr thinks. Unless you're a high risk and need to have it in July, you might want to put it off another month or two.

 

I waited about 8 months (more because I was nervous about it). I just told the tech I had a PM and asked if she had experience with that and it was a piece of cake! The new digital ones are a lot easier than the old ones anyway.Dorothy

 

I just had one last week, my implant was in september so that's like 6 months, and my device is inside my left breast. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be (first mammogram ever). The tech just looked at the implant and positioned me so that it didn't get squished. I thought it would be sensitive because I cannot force myself to touch the implant through my skin, but it wasn't.
