My son will graduate from highschool next year. While in Georgia we have the Hope scholarship, I was wondering if anyone out there knew of some that were avaliable for children with pacemakers? My oldest daughter got different scholarships and she only had to pay for one class when she was in college. She lived at home but still had to work for different things. Which I think is a good thing. She is very responsible.

Don't know, but it would be easy enough to search that. Has your son asked his guidance counselor at school? That person would have access, more easily, to that info.

Having worked for a school for almost 30 years before I retired, there are "wealths" of scholarship info. and all of it is free for the asking/taking. The school district hires people to work with students in these areas.
The school guidance counselor has access to tons of books, phamplets, advertisements, online info. and all kinds of information. You just have to ask. Make the school counselor your newest/bestest friend.
What is so sad is that there are thousands of scholarships which are NOT even applied for by anybody because they are not major and they are not advertised and are unheard of like the major scholarships which are obvious to all juniors/seniors. Some of these scholarships are awarded to students because a relative was a "Mason", a "teenth ounce" of Indian heritage, the family is a farmer/rancher and so many hundreds more of which no one has even heard of. The school counselor can check these books out for the student to "do the walking" or work with them.
What all students/parents need to know is that this scholarship information is free of charge. There are companies who you can pay big dollars to do the same thing a student/parent/counselor does for free. Scams are a dime a dozen approaching students who do not know that all the scholarship info. is free to the public.
Sometimes, several small scholarships can add up to one major scholarship. The monies are there; just ask.

Whoops, I lost the real question when I became "long winded", but education/scholarships/students is a real big soft spot in my heart. I can get carried away.
Anywhooo, back to the question of if any scholarships are offered for "children who have pacemakers". Besides the above info., you could call the toll free numbers of the pacemaker companies, I would think. Even the HR department of your cardio Dr./hospital might have some info., but your school guidance counselor can do the same service for you if asked.
Good Luck, Carolyn G. in TEXAS
Greetings

From a fellow Georgian. If you hear of one, let me know, and I'll do the same. I'd like to go back to school in the next year or so.
I'm in South Ga, (Moultrie,Valdosta,Albany area), but I travel to Piedmont for my electrophysiologist care and pacemaker surgeries.
Nice to see you here,
Angelie
