Pain woke me up this morning...
Posted by sewnjoy on 2010-06-03 17:55

I've had my PM for 3 weeks now & seem to be doing fine! But, early this morning I woke up to a sharp pain around the PM site. I think I must have moved my arm above my head in my sleep. Now I'm wondering if I might have pulled the lead wire. Should I call the doctor or not. I don't have any further pain for the incident, but, just concerned. Should I or shouldn't I call the doctor.
I sure love this site! Lots of good information!
My husband & I are Ham Radio operators & I found some good information about radio frequency & PM's here.
Thanks,
sewnjoy

its unlikely you would have pulled your wires that violently in your sleep. Check your pulse and if its at the rate youve been set at im sure you will be fine. But, as ever, if you are concerned contact your doc.

You're probably fine! It sounds like you pulled the incision, not the leads. If a lead were loose, you would feel like you did before you got the pm. If you pace a lot, you should be able to easily tell by taking your pulse.

My husband is a Ham radio operator also, active in his local repeater group. He hasn't been able to talk me into getting a license yet.

dont worry!

I can remember getting sharp pains every now and again when I first got my PM....It used to frighten me a bit but soon stopped..I think it is part of the healing processj
After a few months you will forget you have even got a PM ..If the pain ever gets really bad of course go and see the doctor..better be safe than sorry!

Thank you so much for your input! Everything is fine & that pain was just a one time thing, at least it hasn't happened again.

TraceyE, I became a Ham because I got tired of my hubby nagging at me about it. LOL! I'm not too active but he is. At least I can get on air when he's out & about & get him home if there is an emergency. Studying for the test became a challenge for me! And I did pretty good on my no-code test about 18 years ago. Still haven't up-graded, but, some day I just might do that. Now we're getting ready for Field Day! Always a big ordeal for us!

Take care!

So what do you do when you aren't supposed to move your left arm over your head or lift much and then you like tear a ligament or tendon in your right hand and it hurts too much to use much?
