Hey all

Just had my yearly check up (7 yrs this year) & extremely happy to report Dr doesn't want to see me for another year & reckons he would look at replacing pacey within 9 months after that. I am so happy that my first pacey is lasting the distance (have met a few people who only got 5 yrs). So I just wanted to share how happy I was with the only people in the world who really do understand the highs & lows of being wired for life!

That news is very encouraging for the rest of us (I received my PM in Dec., '08). You have a great attitude and disposition, and I hope it rubs off on me and others.

My first pacemaker lasted me 11 years. Everyone is different. It depends on your type of pacemaker, how much you use it and what you had it implanted for.

 

You have the right to be happy. Congratulations on such a milestone. I have not reached that point yet, but hope I can be as happy. If you should need anything else let us know.

I hope I am soooooo lucky to have my PM as long as you have. I had my ablation/implant 10/09. Seems like time is just flying if I stop to think about my PM.

That is great news and a huge encouragement to me. I am on my 3rd pacer in a three year period. I am hopeful my new one will last a lot longer. Thank you for sharing your great news with all of us.

Thanks so much for your postings of support. My mates don't get why I am so happy it has lasted so long. Only you guys really 'get' what it is like to live with a PM. I learn heaps, laugh heaps & sometimes cry a bit reading peoples postings & problems on this site so I wanted to share some good news with everyone...
