Pacemaker isn't doing too much

It's strange because, I know I'm only 16 but, I got the pacemaker because of my (now ex) boyfriend because he would make me so unhappy and stressed and my heart would always skip and stop whenever it would happen and it would be for at least 40 beats of it pounding hard and fast against me and then stop for a while. It's strange because it still happens, not as often, but it happens with the same amount of beats as before. It still happens because of the same guy. I don't really know if I should tell my doctor about the beats or why I believe they started because he'll just say something like "it's another teen thing. It'll go away eventually" like a parent. Before I got the pacemaker they did multiple tests on me to find the skipped heart beats, like wearing a heart monitor for a day, and stress tests, so I don't know how long it would take them to find these and what they would do about it.

Welcome to your new PM Club. Without the PM you would probably not be with us today.

No guy, friend or ex-boyfriend is worth being 'unhappy and stressed' about. People with good hearts and health should not have to be 'abused'. You put on your prettiest smile, go out and hold your head high.

Maybe some of our PM Club teens will sign-on and comment to you. A lot of experienced people on here would love to talk to you and advise you.

Keep us posted,

If you feel that your ex-boyfriend stresses you keep him at a distance. Associate only with positive and upbuilding people who care about your well being. Life is hard anyway so learn to be content and pray for wisdom in order to make the right decisions.

I would....

Mention it to your EP.
It isn't the boyfriend per say that causes it. Your heart has a little problem with it's "electrical" system & the PM helps.
Surround yourself with people that make you happy. Leave the others behind.
You're young & deserve only the BEST!!
Wishing you many blessings. :)

This is why I don't talk to people, they don't understand

Okay, actually no. You don't really get it. He's a HUGE impact on my life and if he's not one of my friends (I would rather not get in more fights about other things than friendship) then my body goes completely crazy. It's hard to explain, but I won't bother unless someone is willing to understand that I can't just kick him out of my life. If I could, and would be fine to leave him out, then I wouldve a long time ago but I can't really

Think about it

It's very true that emotional stress can cause irregular heart beats, but these aren't life threatening. You should see the heart rhythm of the people riding one of those scary roller coasters. These feelings are reminders that in your case your boyfriend (ex or not) means a lot to you.

So unless you have some other underlying heart condition you really don't need the pacer.

By the way I'm the first to admit that I may not get it. I can only react to what you have posted and I realize there is likely more going on than you have been able to convey. It isn't easy.

best,

frank

Sorry

I do understand what you mean about not just "booting" someone out of your life. It's hard.
Over the years, people come in & out of our lives. Some seem to stay forever, and some not. Your heart will let you know when it's time for him to go.
I also know that your health is the most important thing.
I hope you're able to find a balance between the two.

16 and in love

Such wonderful memories of that age. How fortunate you are to be a this time in your life. I remember a love at 16. It was wonderful, sweet, and full of pain. good days, bad. I am sure like Frank says, that you have some heart problem that caused your pacemaker implant. Although he could have made life more difficult for you. Life really so short. I hope you two can work things out so each of you doesn't cause the other pain. I wish you both well.
