I have a high tendency of getting staph also. Yes this is probably part of the reason it is taking so long to heal. Staph can be a nasty thing to deal with. It eats new tissue and old tissue alike. I had a small bite on my leg, had staph and now am missing about a 4" x 4" sqaure about an 1/8" deep of tissue. It is bad stuff and in some cases is deadly. Nothing to mess around with. It you see any signs or recurrence get back to the Dr. I have had numerous infections to the point of even having home IV's. I will say a prayer for you and hope you have a speedy recovery. I didn't mean to scare you or get to gross, but it is fact. I have dealt with it.
