I had my pacemaker operation 4 weeks ago. Scar area feels fine, but i feel very unwell in myself. I feel dizzy and sick, can't eat or drink and have digestion trouble, this is at its worst when i wake up in the morning. Can't go out alone as i feel weak and faint. I feel worse now than i did before i had the pacemaker fitted. Is this normal?

 

 

That's not normal at all. Have you been back to see your dr? Are you on any new meds? Call on Monday! Both your cardiologist and internist, rule out anything non-cardiac. Please let us know how you are.

 

No this is not normal at all. I would leave a message for your doctor to call you today and make sure they do not feel it is cardiac. They will guide you on how to get feeling better. As Tracey said, if you are on any new meds you may be having a reaction to those too. You should be feeling better by now. Please let us know and update us on how you are doing.

After 4 weeks, that doesn't seem normal to me.
Maybe a visit to your Dr. is needed.

This is not normal...in fact, if anything, I think you should feel a little better...if not all together normal. You sure sound like you need to get the pacemaker interoggated, and possibly have meds tweaked. It sure takes time to get all the settings right...It took several visits to the Pacemaker Clinic for me to start feeling okay. Good luck and call your doctor!!!

I totally agree with everyone who has already responded.

However, I would add that if you feel you should be seen immediately, please don't hesitate to go to your nearest Emergency Room.

Better safe than sorry....right?

definetely not normal to feel this way. you need to get to your physician as soon as possible jessie

 

I felt awful to start off with and explained to my cardiologist the sensations I was experiencing with my new pacemaker....because it can be set on sensitive pacing which makes it know your every move and you feel it, ie, the weird feelings you speak of.......he took it off sensitive pacing and I have never looked back....that was almost 9 years ago......hope your problem is sorted soon as not a very pleasant feeling, good luck :-)
