Hi guys, had my 6th month check up yesterday, brilliant news, afib episodes 11,000 first 6 months, 920 second six months, none at all this six months, I never took the medication but have a glass of red every day, have no idea if this has had an effect, wouldnt recommend it though unless doc says ok.
Vent pacing went from 84% then to 32% and this time only 6.5% fantastic news.
Atr pacing about 82%.
Told them I loved rate response on and how well I feel so they didnt change the settings, not got to go back for 12 months.
Battery life 4.5-7.5 years, so very non specific.
Heart rate had only gone up to 110, but am now leaving teaching and will have more time for gym, gardening etc, so hopefully my aim now is to get it going higher over the next 12 months (all pics of Wentworth Miller appreciated, he does seem to do something to my heart rate! lol)
So, all is good at the moment, but heartu I gotta confess I went out and had some bad food! lol

That sounds great especially the 6 months without any episodes......If it was the wine, I'd never be able to stand up, and all the shelves would be empty..lol....
Yeah I hate the battery life expectancy info too. I've been paced on and off for 3 years and defibrillated a total of 4 times by the same battery, yet the EP said it still has about 80% or so.....Are they using the new lithium batteries now??
Congrats on the good news.........good luck.......
pleased!

So pleased for you that things pm wise are going so well! It is good that your pacing has gone down so much. I wish mine would!
like you I don't have to go back for a year. It 's such a boost to your confidence in how you are doing isn't it.
Well, keep drinking the wine, after all, it is supposed to be good for your heart (that's my excuse anyway)!
best wishes Jan

They always put the batter life at a very wide range. It doesn't really get lower until it's been around 5 years. They say that I still have about 4 years left on mine and it's been 5 years. Welcome to the club.
thanks guys!

I had a fantastic time last night, a send off from all the people at work. We went to an open air rock concert, I got cards, pressies and we had a picnic and wine.
This is now the next stage of my life, new venture, running parties in houses and fashion shows in schools, colleges and businesses, with a view to selling clothes from my daughter's business.
Oh yes, you probably wonder what I'm talking about, I retired yesterday! lol

Lucky you!
