The soft touch did not work at all for me. I did go to an auto supply shop (Kragen) and bought a sheepskin seat belt cover that works beautifully. YOU MUST WEAT A SEAT BELT FOR YOUR CHILDREN'S SAKE IF NOT FOR YOUR OWN.... good luck & go for it! aldeer

I can't say anything about the "soft touch" seat belt attachment, but I can say that the cushy foam covering I bought at the auto parts stores works well at padding your scar area from a seatbelt.
I also, because I'm short statured, have a clip on attachment for the lap belt that holds the shoulder belt at a different angle. You can buy these attachments where you find seatbelt accessories. The lap belt attachment is mostly used for children. I'm short, so it works for me as well.
Wear your seatbelt. Having a pacemaker is no reason not to wear it. If you're in an accident without wearing your seatbelt just think about the damage to your body other than the possibility of damaging your pacemaker. I would think in some instances, damage to your pacer would be fairly low on the list of concerns. I'd rather possibly damage my pacemaker than to have my head through the front windshield or my face smashed into the steering wheel.
Please wear a belt!!

Possible risks from a collision:
1. With a seatbelt: a sore shoulder from pressure on the pacemaker
2. Without a seatbelt: death or serious injury, which may include paralysis, massive internal injuries etc. Children without a parent.
I know it can be uncomfortable, but discomfort is nothing compared with the alternative. If you weren't interested in survival, presumably you wouldn't have had the PM in the first place. It would be a waste if you didn't take care of yourself now!
(If it weren't for seatbelts, my brother would have been killed aged 17. My sister and brother-in-law would have been killed in their 20s. My sister again in her 30s. I know what I'm talking about here!)
Sorry to talk tough, but this is an issue I feel really strongly about. Good luck with the soft touch. If it doesn't work, wrap a t-shirt or something around the belt. But PLEASE wear it.

Didn't like the Soft Touch, as it never seemed to fit correctly. It ends up putting more pressure on my pacer area. I am doing much better with a folded-up hand towel.

My husband bought me a sheep skin thing that fits on my seat belt. Found at the auto store.
Please wear your seat belt.
My niece had a ICD & no seat belt on a wet rain night. A car went threw a stop sign &hit head on. She would have survived with a seat belt the police told us. Instead she was thrown over a hill.
Prayers with you.

I never tried the Soft Touch, but I did get a sheepskin thingy for my seatbelt that I bought at Walmart in the auto supply section for under $3. Works like a charm!

I was under the impression every State in the USA had a seat belt law. If Texas gets pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, there is a ticket and a hefty fine!

When my cardio. Dr. suggested my PM, I found this PM Club website. Several members I had 'comments' from suggested a 'soft cover' for my seat belt. I ordered an economical one from a lil' catalog. After my PM implant, I never used it because of my large 'build', the seat belt and the PM area never came into contact.
A would imagine, even a soft towel or other soft article would work between the seat belt holding it and your PM.
