Has anyone gone through the new airport scanners? I heard they were pacemaker okay. Would like to know for sure before we fly out in a couple weeks. Usually it's just as easy if not more so to have the pat down. I think of it as a mini massage be fore the trip.
Let me know. Thanks

I just came back from vacation and went through the DFW airport and LAX airport. Both locations told me NOT to go through the scanners even though they say they are supposedly safe for pacemakers.
Just an FYI

There are different kinds. No, you don't go thru the scanner that everyone else does. But if you are at an airport that has one of the micro scanners- (stand for about 1-3 seconds) have at it! l live in Atlanta, fly weekly and always make a point of going thru one (they are at either side of the security check points). Faster, safe and a whole lot better than the "pat-down" which are about as consistent as a thunderstorm on a hot afternoon in Georgia!
Rejoice if the your airport has one!

The body imaging scanners are safe for us to walk through because it uses xray rather than magnets. I've been through them and had no problems.

The x-ray scanners show every part of your body, shape of things etc. very invasive - it is an option but I just get the patdown and they are relatively quick because they know your are not a threat. Don't let anyone use the wand either.
