Good Morning All,
Has anyone experienced a problem with the PM while being on a Turboprop plane? My husband and I will be going on vacation and part of our trip is on a American Eagle ATR72 Turboprop. Am nervous that I will have a problem during the trip. Would appreciate your input. Thank you.

Hello JAE,
Yes, I have been on turboprops and jets and my pacemaker did not care what it was.
I will mention that because it is a turboprop, you will probably be flying at a lower altitude than on a jet which means there is a greater possibility of air turbulence. IF THE RATE RESPONSE IN YOUR PACEMAKER IS ON rough air may get your attention by causing you to have a faster heart rate, but it will not be a problem. If you were to hit rough air and get a good shaking, the rate response has an accelerometer that may think you are jogging, or doing some other type exercise which can cause the pacemaker to
increase your heart rate a little.
I mention this only because it appears that your are nervous about some of the unknowns and if your heart rate were to suddenly increase I would expect that to increase your anxiexty when there is no need. That pacemaker will sit there and do what it is programmed to do which means when your activity returns to your normal routine the help it gives your heart will also return to what you know as normal.
Now go have a good vacation and don't let that pacemaker influence your thoughts or activities.

Thank you so much for your response. I do feel less nervous about it now. Have a great day!

Fly on a DUKE alot and no problems. It is a twin private turboprop which places me closer to the engine then you will be.
I sit in the co-polit seat straight across from one engine.
