It has been 8 months after the implantation. but i don't feel any big difference. what kind of "big difference" do u have? i , don't feel more energetic like most people do. Just that there is no more headache after i wake up from sleep. just that. why?

 

 

Hi. I've had my pm since May 3, 2010. I must be having the same experience as you. I don't feel any big surge of energy and I'm still breathless when I go up & down stairs. Maybe it's my age; I'm 54, but have always been active and I feel so young--it's hard for me to believe I'm that old. I still have various pains in my chest, ribs, breast and burning in my center chest. The scar is very tender and even though I put vitamin e oil on it, it "pulls" sometimes. I don't know if I am depressed (I lost my job because of getting the pm), but I do know anxiety plays a big part in how I feel. I got so tired of worrying if I was going to die, even though I have so much to live for; I just made peace with it and decided if it was my time to go, there was nothing I could do about it. May I ask how old you are? If you're a lot younger than I am, maybe it's time to go to your doctor for a thorough checkup. Were you physically active before your pm? Wish I could have been more helpful & encouraging, but I'm scared to even bike ride in this heat & humidity. When I'm back to the breathlessness, it scares me. I wonder if I'm doing good for my heart at that time, or if I'm hurting it.

 

im 20. physically active? not really.. i always study coz im a medical student. but b4 getting a pm i always feel fatigue after returning from college n when i walk for a long distance.btw, If the scar is tender i think u should go to your doctor. some advice, we are all going to die one day no matter how young or old u are but as we are still alive we must keep going on.

I don't know your diagnosis, or the reason(s) you needed a PM. While we all have in common a PM or bi-vent (PM/Defib), the reasons can be very different. I have DCM and PM/Defib. I also takes lots of meds and some of the meds make you feel like crap, to be honest. I've been told it takes a long time for your body to start the recovery process, and while the meds are the best available, you can still have the fatigue, SOB, chest pain for quite some time. The severity of your condition also makes a difference in the recovery time. Mine is severe and the Heart Failure Specialist I saw recently said that in some cases, it can take up to 18 mos to see an improvement in the symptoms. Talk to the doctor. I was active and very healthy before a virus apparently caused my problems. I have no blockages, I have an EF of 15 (normal is 55-60), and mitral valve leak. I had to take a disability retirement from work long before I had planned. I thought I could continue to push my body and it would help me recover. After my condition worsened, I had to take the doctors advice and rest, listen to my body and give myself a chance to recover. Hang in there...but ask the doctor.

 

it is due to complete heart block. unknown reason maybe i'ts congenital. i don't take any meds. my condition is not severe.
