One year since my PM implant, I have doing exceptionally well, with no restrictions.
Today I began to feel very tired and slightly short of breath.
Checking my pulse I found it to be low: 52 bpm, but with a normal O-2 sat of 98%.
I will be calling the doctor in the morning.
In the meantime, any ideas on what the problem could be?

Hello,
Not trying to alarm you, but I had something similar. About a week after my ICD implant I had same symptoms as you--shortness of breath and feeling very tired. My pulse stayed around 53 bpm. This went on for 3 days prior to my first device check. When I finally made it to my appt., the tech checked my device, found something and went to get the doctor. The doctor told me that I was in complete heart block. They altered my settings and I felt great within about a minute. Not sure if this is what's going on with you, but I would definitely contact the doctor. Take Care,
Jeff
Thanks Jeff

I had the PM implant due to complete heart block.
My PM probably needs an adjustment.
I'll let you know what the Doc has to say.
Thanks again.
Syd

Surely if the pulse rate is below the lower limit then the pm isnt working. Get it checked. Hope things are OK.

Cardiologist follow-up

I went to my cardiologist today and he found that my pulse was within normal limits and the PM is working properly.
The problem is PVCs which aren't detectable in the radial pulse.
Blood tests and echo cardiogram to follow tomorrow.
Thanks to all for the feedback to my posting.
