Not a question, just a complaint. I was supposed to go for my 4 week follow up on Monday. I had to call and reschedule because I have to go to a funeral. They only do checks 2ce a week and the next appointment I could get is Oct. 7. Ridiculous!  I feel fine so took it.  Everything looks good to me. The only things I don’t like is it looks like this scar is going to be longer and you can really see the outline of the pm this time. (even my son commented on it) Last one you couldn’t see at all and could barely feel it. This one stabs into me if I move a certain way and I still find it hard to sleep on my left side because it pokes into my under arm. Oh well. I’ll survive.

 

 

Give it a while longer. It took several months for mine to settle down to it's final state. It wasn't much problem from the beginning, but it was a bit larger than the first one. Sometimes reaching across from left to right would get it jabbed into some part of my anatomy, but that has disappeared. My replacement was in Jan this year.

By the way in my small town they only do regular checkups once a month.

Ditto what ElectricFrank said...just give it a little more time. My first pacer didn't stick out at all so I was shocked when the second one was VERY noticeable and I was upset with my doctor. It really stuck out! He explained that the site was just swollen and once that went down it would look fine. (I was still secretly mad - ha ha) It took almost 3 months before it started to look right. No one knows I have a PM now and my scar is actually smaller and less noticeable than the first one.
The stabs and feeling like it gets stuck still happens from time to time though. My heart seems to flippity flop when I lay on my left side. I don't have any recommendation other than try to find a more comfortable position.
As far as getting in for your follow up, your doctor office sounds way better than mine!!
