Hello everyone, I thought I would pop in and say hello. I have been in and out of the dr. offices and the hospital here and there. Mostly for things not heart related.
I suffered from "Graves Disease" in the late 1990's and I think that is what brought on the heart problems. Anyway, seems there is a problem now with my vocal cord, a nodule. It causes me some problems, chocking, weird voice, pain and so on. Well seems that the original Thyroid problem is still causing me problems... my question is has anyone else had this kind of problem? Vocal cord nodules? How was it treated? Did it change your voice? I'm sched. to see a ENT specialist on Monday and I'm getting nervous about it.
Thanks,
PG

Just before I got a pm I suffered a thyroid problem. I got snagged in the neck by a branch whilst clearing the garden. I think that was the cause. After a while I developed a cyst on my thryroid.. One sp said it was a thyrogloosal cyst. Another refuted this finding. The cyst/lump was surgically treated. My voice used to go husky. My surgeon warned me I may be left with a husky voice and I did chip him afterwards and said I had looked forward to a husky sexy voice as I have never like my voice!
Although you have a vocal chord problem I am sure your surgeon will be able to treat it. Just think of the singers that develop this problem. They must be scared stiff too.
Take care and relax. Will be thinking of you on Monday. Keep us posted how you went.
Cheers from Oz
