I received my pacemaker on August 16, 2010. Things seem to be going fairly well. However, I am noticing swelling in my left are (pacemaker is on left side). Not severe, but uncomfortable, and troubling. I would love to know if anyone else is experiencing the same or anything similar.

 

 

It could easily be lack of movement but it's best to be checked because clot's can cause swelling also. Better safe than sorry!

 

Call and speak with the doctor or nurse. It is always best to err on the side of caution. Tracy is corrrect: could be simple or something serious, but you need to call. They will be able to ask the questions and determine if you need to come in.

Tracey and Cammy are right. You really should call your Dr. I had this problem and it took some doing to clear it up. I am fine, but please don't delay. Call your Dr.

Good Morning...you all are wonderful!! Thank you for such rapid reponse. I did call doc's office; went in for "ultrasound" last evening around 6PM. NO BLOOD CLOTS. Thank God. Doc wants me in his office today so he can actually my arm. It is still swollen this morning, though not as much. Pacegirl how did yours get cleared up? Again, thank you so much. Love this site.

Went to my doc yesterday...seems my blood is sluggish in my left arm because of the wire in my vein, so he put me on 5mg Coumadin and increased the dosage of my water pill. There are some serious diet changes on Coumadin, but I am alive!! So, I have calmed down and trying to get on with my life.
