I take the extended release (succinate) but it's the same thing. It took about a month for me to adjust to it, and during that initial month, I was extremely fatigued and light headed and experienced difficulty sleeping. After I started taking it at bedtime and my body adjusted to it, I function quite well and haven't seen any indication of problems.

Did A quick Google search

This is actually Lopressor. I took this a number of years ago with no problems.

I take it. IC Metoprolol tartrate 100 mcg 2 times a day.
It made me so tired an hour after taking it in the beginning. It was terrible. It took me a good 4-5 months to have it level out & get used to it.

Like Patch, I was on the extended release. As the others said, it can take a while to get used to the side effects. I lasted 5 weeks and couldn't stand it anymore so they switched me to something else. For me it was like being drunk- dizzy, brain moving in slow motion, tired.
