Just for fun...and to get away from serious discussion, sometimes it's fun to make light of our situation..if only for a second. I want to come up with a funny list.
Sadly, the only one I can think of is..if you're a pervert, you enjoy getting pat down at the airport. :(
Anyway, I want to add it to my website so people should think of things.
k, thanks.

Two: You can steal candy from a store, and when the alarm goes off as you walk through the door, you can say, "Oh, I have a pacemaker" and show them your card. Not that i've done that! lol.

When my husband had his ICD implanted I read his owners manual. There was a section called sexual intimacy. One sentence caught my eye. "If you are shocked during sex, your partner may feel a tingling sensation" And this is a bad thing how?....lol

You can use it as an excuse to get out of swim class:
"Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to be near water; I'll get electrocuted."

Here's one. How about, saying to your husband, Honey I can't help cut wood during the winter, since I can't be near the Log splitter.

One, you can put a smile on your face, and name your pacer/ICD and feel very speical cuz you two are very close and the Pacer ICD is your new start in a long healthy life........
When you get down and no one will listen to ya, No matter how weird people say u might be laught at them, and say at least I have someone apart who will listen to me and not talk back........
If you are a teen, or adult and going to a special dance or somewhere and the guy wants to pin a flower on you, say Hey buddy, I need two of them.. My partner is with me 24 hrs and derseves the same speical treatment.............I know
Elisa, hush !!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha I guess I'm just sentinmental is all..

I posted this in 2004
Top 10 things about being a pacer
Feel bad about being a Pacer? Here is some good news. The 10 best things about being a Pacer are:
10. We have a $100,000. chest. How many women can say that?
9. We can tell when an electrical storm is coming before anyone else.
8. We have a guaranteed cardio heart beat in about 2 minutes or less.
7. Free EKG with every doctors visit
6. Preferencial treatment in the E.R.
5. We can hear our heart beat in the cell phone ear piece.
4. We have something in common with the V.P. of the U.S.
3. We always have something close to our hearts. Can everyone say that?
2. We always get a private room in the Cardiac Unit.
1. We get a free massage with every Secruity check.

I am not sure if this is allowed but I thought of it right away after my pm was put in .I was talking to my husband because there was a magazine column asking one to send in pictures of their scars. i told my husband that we could send mine in with the caption "To my ex-boyfriend who said i was a heartless -itch. The doctor says you are wrong I have a heart." I thought it was funny and my husband couldn't stop laughingI

For me, the ten best things about my pacer occur non-stop, six times every minute. Now THAT is good. =Rob
