Have you seen the new pm by Biotronik. I read about it and it sounds great. It is called the Biotronik Cylos 990, Works on the right ventricular and knows when it is not doing its job. The reactions on it are apparently much quicker than an ordinary pm.

You are talking about the Biotronic Cylos 990 Pacemaker. Apparently in some people their pacemakers dont kick in quick enough to stop feinting. This pacemaker monitors the amount of blood in the right ventricle and when it thinks its getting a bit low it speeds up the heart to stop the patient feinting. Very clever stuff but only a very few patients need one. I think its made in Germany. You can type in the pacemaker type in google and find out more. Cheers Peter

 

Hi I have just had my 2nd pacemaker fitted-the new Biotronik Cylos 990 in St Mary;s hospital London 7 days ago.
I;m still feeling pain in my left arm/shoulder but am hopeful this new pacemaker will solve my syncope at long last!
Has anyone else had this pacemaker fitted, as I was told I was only the 8th person to get this PM?

Hey Sally i was the 5th person to have the biotronik cylos fittid in october.

I had it sone at st marys too by professor sutton.

sorry i have taken so long to return this comment, I hope you are well.
I am ok at the moment but still have occasional dizzyness, but thankfully no blackouts.
How are you finding the new pacemaker? I would love to hear from you.
