Hi Dipak,

I'm a little confused. Does your Dad have an ICD? If so, the "blast" you mention was, I think, it doing its job.
If your Dad has a regular pacemaker, I'm not sure what you mean, but you can live a very long time with a pacemaker.
I'm going on 33 years with mine now.
Hang in there. It sounds like your Dad's ICD/PM is doing what it was meant to do.
Please keep us informed as to how you and your Dad are doing. We all care here.
Best to you,
Gellia

Sounds like an ICD

If he doesn't have an ICD then the "blast" isn't pacemaker related and he needs to be checked out. Otherwise, it is doing what it is supposed to do, but he may need some assurance from the doc. I sudden shock out of the blue is unsettling to say the least and can produce anxiety that can trigger repeated events.
