Of course I will pray for you and your daughter. I am the Mother of 3 daughters myself. My battery is running low as well and towards the end of the year I will require a new pacer. I will pray for you and your daughter.

I will pray for your daughter and you. I had my third pacemaker with the most recent replacement the day after Christmas this year. I was scheduled to be at the hospital by 6AM. I was on my way home by 10:30.

I was so scared but everything went very well. I'm sure that your daughter will be fine. My prayers will be for both of you to give you strength and courage as you get ready for the surgery. Think really good thoughts and God will take care of your daughter.

Best wishes on wed! It is a very stressful time - especially with a 15 year old teen. I wish you the very best. I also wanted to lead you to a yahoo group of parents of paced kids or with heart block, being monitored for eventual implant. There are others parents of teens on that group that can help.

My son is 22 months old and got his 2nd battery & leads last week. He is almost back to normal now.

NO NEED TO WORRY

Your daughter has a single chamber rate responsive pacemaker. Relax, these are the easiest pacemakers to replace with almost no risk to patient. I wish I had one of those, I would almost laugh all the way to the hospital if I had one. They will take extra special care of her knowing that she is so young. Relax , she will be just fine. Let us know thats she is ok wont you as we will all be thinking of her. Cheers Peter

Your daughter will be absolutely fine having her pacemaker battery changed. Its much easier to do than the first initial operation of having it implanted for the first time. I was 15 when I had my first pacemaker in, and was very worried having my first battery change 7 years later. I'm now 38 and on pacemaker no. 3. I actually had a check up today and was told that I'd be contacted in 2-3 weeks time as my battery is also going flat and need another op now, for pacemaker number 4. I was quite shocked at the news I received today, as it was much sooner than I'd predicted. I know it'll be fine. They said I'd be in and out in a day, and I'm sure your daughter will be the same.

Tell her I'm thinking of her, and all the best for her coming op. Best Wishes Julie :-)
