Hi:
Next month I will have been a friend of Bill W. for forty years. We deal with pacemaker, ICD, health issues like we deal with everything else in life: We don't drink or use no matter what. Who knows what's next. We can only deal with life one day at a time.
Robert Louis Stevenson, the renound author of "Treasure Island" suffered from many ailments and was very sick. He said: "any man can carry his burden, however heavy, until nightfall." That's all we can do.
Let's all of us friends of Bill and Dr. Bob keep in touch with each other. Thanks for your post. I hope others will chime in. Ted

thanks ted

As you would have guest I had not talked with my sponsor when I made the 1st post. He and I went out for supper last night and just like always I came back in a new frame of mind. It’s good to know no matter were I go I can always find someone that’s been there before me and can show me the way. So no matter how special I think I am I’m just one of many that “trudge the happy road of destiny” one day (or in this case moment) at a time. Thanks again for the reply. Thomas

hi coke-bone, it made me laugh because my husband of 44 yers drinks coke and eats t-bone. also a friend of bill w. since 77. this year the program has helped immensely in knowing that a lot of things i have no control over. our best friend was only in florida two winters and now has cancer that has metasticized thru his body. my husband had bi-pass in sept and now has chf. i hope he responds to treatment. my roses in my garden are fantastic. he is my on site gardener. he has decided to keep working part time. it keeps his mind off things. right now he is in kazachstan. hope that is the right spelling. he will be home on the 11th of july to spend time with our grandchildren and our two adult children. we can only enjoy life one day at a time but it is also okay to have a bit of self pity for a few hours then move on. that i believe is healthy. your pacemaker friend and friend of the higher power i chose to call god jessie
