I must make a decision as to have the pacemaker that I had a battery changeout on Feb 2008 to be replaced with a smaller one, repositioned, leads tucked under and with the pocket to be stitched properly or to leave it alone. As it is now, it floats to under my arm and the lead is poking my skin. I have pain if I sleep on the left side or after exercise. I just don't know what to do.
Any one have any suggestions?

Will it get worse? Any danger involved? I'd say it depends how bad the pain is. Weigh the inconvenience/pain of surgery against living with it. If it's stable and not dangerous, and the pain is more annoying than awful, I'd probably wait until the next battery change.
2nd surgery

I too have to have a replacement of my device, Mine was placed on the collar bone, & it hurts when I touch it like, seat belt, in the shower, feels like it will fall out when I bend down so I hold it, so that it won't come out of my skin, aweful feeling. It is so large even the nurses make comments like, boy that device is big, or that sure sticks out. Makes me aware of it 24/7, would like to forget it is there, but can I, it is always in the way. I too am worried about the 2nd surgery. But will have it done later in August.
