Hi Everyone

I had my pacemaker check at the Geelong Hospital yesterday. They don't implant Ela's in Geelong so they got a technician to come down from Melbourne to the Cardiology Department. He was a really nice guy and knew my Technician in Hobart. He did make some comment about my pacemaker being set low. It is on 50 min - 132 max rate. It was set at this a couple of years ago when I felt a kick in the ribs each time the pacemaker started. If I was sitting down I would have to get up and walk around.

Lately I have been getting a bit puffed if I move quickly or am very active. The cardio put me on a blood pressure tab with some diuretic in it. It has made a bit of difference but I am beginning to feel like a blob again and my fingers are swollen but this is a hard gauge as I suffer from Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. (Oh the joys of old age!)

All in all I feel ok. It has been four years since my implant. It is around "my anniversay time" that I realise how lucky I was to have been given a second chance and the bonus of belonging to the Pacemaker Site. Thank you all for the comfort and support.

Pace well, keep well and keep in touch. Sincere wishes to all.
Billie
