I have a MRI surescan pacemaker by medtronic.   You would have to go to a main hosiptal in order to have an MRI.  you of course will have to let them know you have a pacemaker.  They will contact the rep, before your MRI the rep puts you in a safe mode, after your MRI you Pacemaker is put back where it should be.

All of the manufacturers have mri compliant devices now. The problem is if you have older leads, your system still won't be considerd mri compliant so it doesn't really matter if the box is. That said, there are hospitals that can do mri's safely on devices not specifically labeled mri-safe. And if you have one that's mri-safe, not every facility will take you and there are special protocols to be followed. It's not easy either way, but it's also not impossible.

Thank you all for your response, apparently my device - I had a replacment done today- is MR conditional but my leads aren't.. too bad

KEEP YOUR INFORMATION CARDS!! For leads and devices.

Take a picture of them with your phone. 

At our outpatient facilities we will do any qualifying patient with a card that says conditional or outright OK on any of our 4 machines. No problem so far.
