new years resolution

Wishing everyone a better new year.

My resolution is to learn to ignore the "inner child" when she says it is ok to eat these  two slices of pizza or a couple of pieces  of rye bread.  When the adult in me says no, it is not good for my A-fib episodes.

Just looked around my home nothing like that is here.

Will keep you posted on how we do.

New Year's resolution

by Gemita - 2022-12-31 10:14:16

Hello New to Pace,

I do not have a problem controlling my food portions or saying no, but I do have a problem focussing my mind on one job at a time.  My mind is always diverted from the present to what I need to do next, or what I should have done;  or trying to tackle too many jobs at once, so I am going to try to keep my mind focussed on the present (the only time I can possibly live) and to try to stop multi-tasking.

My New Year’s resolution is therefore going to be the state of “mindfulness” and hopefully I will manage my day more “effectively”.

And remember setting goals is the easy part, it is the journey that counts too and we are occasionally allowed an extra slice of something naughty along the way or missing the odd session at the gym.  This would certainly not be failure to stick to our New Year’s resolutions.  It takes time to change our behaviour, so as long as we largely commit to “moving forward”, we will all succeed.

Happy New Year to you New to Pace and to all our members.

Thanks, for letting me have that one slice.

new year's resolutions

by AgentX86 - 2022-12-31 13:18:05

I don't do new year's resolutions.  I find them counterproductive.  Seldom do they work and if they did, it wouldn't take a new year to start.  When I fall off the wagon, and I will, I know I'll beat myself up for it.

Maybe my new year's resolution will be to watch football. 😁

(actually I don't watch football anymore.  Any sports, for that matter.)

Thanks Flo for your wishes for all of us.

AgentX86  one does not need resolutions to give ourselves a goal.  We should just do whatever on our own.

Not need

Exactly.  We don't need a new year, either. But whatever works for you.

Christmas Leftovers

by Penguin - 2023-01-04 11:56:34

Leftover food from Christmas has been my biggest issue this year.   I just can't put good food in the bin, particularly if I baked it or made it. Hower I have avoided the alcohol and fizzy mixers. I've had a very 'dry' Christmas & New Year for fear of more of the dreaded arrhythmia. That's set to continue I suspect and for good reason.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
