Hello. I have a Biotronik implanted in April. I went to a Bryan Adam's concert three weeks ago, sitting near the front. As soon as the music started I realised it was a bad idea. I felt very disturbing vibrations coming up from the floor and got a marked tachycardia. My cardiologist thinks this was due to the pacemaker mistaking the vibration for extreme activity rather than an electromagnetic effect.
Has anyone experienced similar?
Can I still get a tattoo? I was planning a trip to Norway to visit my Tattoo Artist who use to be in California but he moved back to Norway. I plan on getting a tattoo on my right chest of a portriat of my Son, who passed two years ago
Yesterday, I received my pacemaker. My hobby is restoring old cars, so there is a fair amount of welding and cutting.
I've read about faraday T-Shirts and Hoodies, does anyone have a view concerning how effective a faraday T-shirt/Hoodie would be at protecting a pacemaker.
Another thing I read was "...twisting the wires together...." so does that mean you're twisting the ground cord and the welding cord around each other?
I have been given a massage gun as a present....are they safe to use with a pm?
Hello, does anyone use the Abbott, FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor to monitor their glucose levels? Have you had any difficulties using it with your pacemaker?
Last night I changed my husband’s 14 day sensor, placing it on his left upper arm for the first time (at his request). My iPhone/FreeStyle App couldn't scan the new sensor and kept telling me to replace it. Eventually I had to remove the faulty sensor and to place a new on...
My PM is two weeks old now, and I'm happy to have found this site.
I have read here and elsewhere that the Fitbit Versa 2 does not contain a magnet. I have also read that wearables containing magnets or using bioimpedance technology might conflict with a pacemaker. Problem is where to obtain the tech specs??
I tried chatting with two different fitbit reps over two days, but the best info they can give me is to check with my doctor. Fitbit must possess...
Has anyone gotten a cold while on warfarin? If so what medications do not interfeer with it
Hello everyone! I am in my late 20s and got a Boston Scientific Sub-Q ICD implant. My EP doctor gave me the go ahead to ride roller coasters again, however my question is, has anyone risked riding a coaster with a magnetic launch. I love these roller coasters, and want to know if there is real risk of anything. Thanks!
I had a PM (bradycardia) installed Jan 20/22. It was intended to be a 3 wire cadliiac version. Setup was completed and I was sent home. During evening sleep I experienced a total body nerve event. Vibration lasted about an hour. Ambulance to hospital, reset PM. Experienced repeat event. Clinic was unable to set PM without causing various versions of . Decided to eliminate one wire from functioning. ( apparently it was having is...
I am noticing a signal interference in the bluetooth devices when I use them. I do have a CRT pacemaker that uses bluetooth signal. Do you all think the pacemaker could put out a signal that interferes with a bluetooth signal? I did try to research this myself but all the results focus on the bluetooth affecting the pacmake which is more important of course. I am mostly just curious.
I have had my pacemaker since 2019. I have total heart block. I just purchased a high end professional sewing machine. When I took it out of the box, it had a warning label for a strong magnet. I don't know if I can possibly allow proper distance from the magnet while sewing. I am also concerned with the amount of time I would be close to the machine while sewing a project. Do we have any sewers in this group that may have any information on if this type of magnet is strong enough to...
I had a smart meter installed when I wasn't home . Later the next day I called the local power company to have it move to a pole near the street.I was given a thousand reasons that the smart meter posed no threat to my device. Actually, I had to get the local newspaper reporter to help me. My guess is that the power company did not want the bad press so they moved it from my house to a pole near the street about 150 feet away from its previous location. I have researched Sma...
I have read something about the alternator being located under the seat on a lawn tractor. Most alternators are located at the top of the engine also known as a stator .I do not know of any mowers that have alternators located under the seat. if you could give me a model of the lawn tractor that has one under the seat please do so,I am always ready to learn something new. I contacted ABBOT LABS regarding my experience . The rep had no concrete information regarding what the cause could . He stated there were too many variables to even speculate as to the cause of my problem. I want to mention I had a strong magnet that is used to disable unnecessary shocks that might come while on my mower . The reason for this started last Easter morning I was urinating when I got a shock unexpectedly I had just taken my BP and all was well. The shock I received...
I have experienced several incidents of false pacing of my AbbottLAB three-wire ICD.This has happened on my 21 HP. riding mower. I had a three-wire ICD implanted about 5 months ago .The head of electrophysiology at Emory University did my surgery .He's the best of the best . I don't know if the bumps are causing this or the magnetic field. I have read several responses from the group concerning this problem .Has anyone use Shirts using silver-infused fabrics to block the waves...
Recent recipient of Boston Scientific L131 and feeling great!
I'm applying for a job as Substation Electrician: 12kv AC to rectifier for 1500v DC
Job would entail mainly switching.
Should it be a concern w/PM?
I'll be contacting Boston Scientific for their take tomorrow
I purchased an electric recliner with masssager. I did not even remember I have a pacemaker implant. I've been equipped since 2010. This is my second one. So - can I use the chair? I don't like massages so I wold not be using the massager, but I do need help to pull the levers, etc.
Hi, was just wondering if a smart watch will interfere with my pacemaker?
I have a Medtronic W3DRO1 Pacemaker which I had in 2021.
For the past few days I have been experiencing sudden sharp shock pain where the pacemaker is.
has anybody had the same? it lasts for a few seconds.
Also I was diagnosed with Trigamenal Neuralgia which has been causing the same sharp pains in my face but this is the opposite side to the pacemaker? Does anyone suffer the same, I'm wondering if this is caused by the pacemaker.
Any advise would be muchly appreci...
Thank you so much for the helpful comments. I will walk through the next one I come upon......
You know you're wired when...
A thirty-day guarantee is not good enough.
Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
