what goes here?

I had a pacemaker/defrbrllator inserted in February. I am more tired after the insertion than before. I work full time and am getting depressed about always being so tired. Is this fatigue expected? Does it get better?

Give it time....

Hi Rose, I've had my defib for some years now and at first I felt awful. I think it was partly the medication but when I look back I am sure it was more depression. I was frightened mostly, coming to terms with what had happened to me and what the future might hold was daunting. I tried to go back to work after eight days and by lunchtime I just wanted to sleep. It does get better but it can take a little time. I agree with Magster, if you feel you are not progressing as you thought you would then go back to your doc and have a chat with him.

Good luck and take things easy. Give yourself time to heal.

If you're on Metoprolol, especially high doses or one of the extended release types, they can really drag you down.
