Hi,Has anyone had a shock 52 times because of a lead falure,and had defib shut down because of affriad to recieve any more shocks like thay agian.It shocked me 52times in 1 hour and it was quite an exsperence.

Sorry to hear about your experience, handyman. Good luck to you. Please consider seeing somebody -- mental health person, or least see if there's a cardiac support group in your area -- it's hard to handle so extraordinary stressful a situation on your own.
So you shut down your ICD? I can see why, considering what happened. Obviously your EP was not effectively reassuring enough that he/she could fix the problem and ensure it wouldn't happen again. If you are wondering about turning it back on, can you get a second opinion, from an experienced EP or specialist?

If you were shocked that many your battery must be more than alittle depleted so is uggest you see your EP or cadio as soon as possible to establish the cause and whether you nee d battery change

Your post really hit home with me, that had to be a terrifying experience. I had one shock storm of 8 shocks and another, a week later, of 8+ (we lost count). I really feel bad for you receiving 52 shocks. Both of my occurrences were justified, not a malfunction, and I still ended up a basket case.
That was almost 2 years ago, since then I have only received one shock and that was also justified (it might have saved me from going into cardiac arrest). I have a love/hate relationship with my ICD, I hate that it has shocked me but I am comforted in knowing it is there watching over me.
I think cbaker made some good points in his post. I don't think the doctor's prepare us for what can happen.
