Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. While working as a CNA, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital. After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.

'Oh yes, in a few minutes but she's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown..'

I've been in that hospital.

Priceless

Love it. I can see this happening with my Mom and Dad. My Dad passed away 3 years ago. He and my Mom had quad by-pass w/i 7 months of each other. They insisted on being at each others bedside and we've had several instances where the nurse mistook which of them was the patient. You lead an interesting life.

This one is personal. After my original implant, my wife came by to pick me. It was at a shift change time for the nurses and the one who was to wheel me out left the wheel chair in the room, told me to finish dressing and a nurse would come by in a few minutes. So I got dressed and convinced my wife to sit in the wheel chair. The nurse and I wheeled her out, and I got in the passenger seat of the car. Only then did she find out what we had put over on her. She had a good sense of humor and I promised her it was just between the 3 of us.

That was over 5 years ago and the statute of limitations should have run out. I've never told this before.
