I joined the club

I received my PM last friday. I passed out early in the morning and went to the ER because I had hit my head when I passed out and I needed a few stitches. I was shocked when they told me I was having a heart problem! I have been exercising and eating right since October 2008 and have lost 50 pounds with about 20 more to go- although I am pretty happy were I am. I recently started run/walking, within the last 2 weeks before my diagnoses, because I want to run in a 5k race in September. After being diagnosed with wenckebach as I look back over the last few months I remember being light headed and dizzy at various times but only actually passed out last friday. I actually feel pretty good- I am able to put in several miles a day - walking. I consider myself fairly young- 46- and have 2 kids in high school. I have read through most of the info on this site and am thankful that I found it.

I guess I would love to hear from others who may have had a similar experience and any suggestions anyone may have-

Thanks to whomever set this club up- I truly appreciate it!

Diane

Don't be surprised to have had a heart rhythm problem even though you are in good shape. They often are related to having a virus or other infection that damages the heart wall. They sure can sneak up on you.

unrelated

As Frank said, electrical problems are usually unrelated to taking care of yourself. Excellent work on the weight loss!!! Keep on eating well and exercising, none of us needs plumbing problems on top of our electrical issues!

There's no reason to think you won't be running your 5K race in September. Take it easy for 4-6 weeks to give your body a chance to heal and adapt, then go for it. You'll probably find that your energy and stamina are considerably better.

If you have any questions about recovery or living with these things, ask away. We've all been there.

sounds familiar
