PM Club has been a blessing

I have always been a pretty self sufficient person and able to keep myself on an even keel in life - that is up until the PM and I became best friends...

This site has been a blessing for me - the overwhelming depression started to lift once I started to read others’ stories and fears etc. I have not posted a great deal, but learned a lot and wanted to thank the group for having such a great place. It has helped me with my relationship with my wife and children as well.

From a reformed loner... THANKS!!! You probably could do this on your own, but why bother...? Thanks for sharing.

It looks like you found the secret!!! Becoming best friends with your pacemaker. I think the hardest part about getting a one is the whole acceptance thing. Once we realize that our pacemakers are there to help, and we learn to trust them, I think it is much easier to accept our new lives and move on.
So glad that you are doing well! Take care!

not alone

You most definitely are not alone! You didn't list your age on your profile but mentioning kids leads me to believe you're young. I've been the youngest person in my cardiologists office for the past 15 years! He's wonderful but I'm his only young and active pm patient. It's nice to come here and not be the baby in the crowd.

Please don't be shy about jumping in. We're all still self sufficient, we just have a bit of help. I hope the depression is gone for good.

Thanks to all

I am 35, the thought of my girls (8, 6 and 5) losing their father was tough for my wife and I. The depression is gone for good - I love the perspective my pacemaker has brought to my life. Every day is Friday afternoon in my world...

I feel really out of place at the cardiologist's office too. I will be one of the youngest people there for many years to come...

Peace
