Canadian in USA. Should I get it checked?

Hi,

I got a pacemaker implemented 4 months ago because my heart was doing some long pause night time.

Last night, I woke up a bit sweaty and my both arms were a bit numbs. The hotel room was pretty hot so I open the door and then I was ok.

I am wondering if it could be a problem with my pacemaker or the fact that the room was too hot.

Should I get it checked and would it cost me any money since I am from BC Canada?

Thanks

if you have work coverage because you work there or like us we take out the most expensive plan thru royal bank of canada but we are then covered. you need to find this out or head back by plane for winnipeg. numb arms are not anything to fool around with . jessie

Thanks

I trying to get in touch with my cardiologist.

I am 8 hours drive from Winnipeg, Canada. So I might drive there if it gets too complicated.

Day time I am fine, it is only when I am sleeping.

Thanks

If it's only when you're sleeping it could be something positional, but numb arms are a sign of a heart attack. Hopefully it's nothing, but do you want to be wrong?? A flight or an 8 hr drive would not be a good idea until you know for sure. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I really think you should be checked out now, get a doctor's clearance before you make a trip that long.

Any issue you think might involve your heart should be investigated.

Given the arm numbness I believe it would be important to get it checked out – better safe then sorry.

I can’t comment as to cost since I live in the USA possible some of our Canadian friends can help you with that.

Best of luck & God Bless

numb arms are nothing to mess around with, I'd get checked out asap.

I have no idea how the finances/coverage works if you are out of the range of your national health care. You can ask at the hospital, they should know, or one of the other Canadians here will speak up soon, I'm sure someone's run into this before. A walk in clinic will cost less than an emergency room, look in the phone book for an urgent care clinic. But really, cost is secondary to your safety.
