Let me out!

My pacemaker seems to protrude more and more. The top connections are actually poking up leaving a white imprint in the skin. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have a history story of my experience with same problem which took me 2 years to correct. If you're interested send me private message with questions and maybe ease your anxioty a little. Don

traveling pacemaker

Yes, I have experienced both the pacemaker moving and the wires moving and poking, When I needed a lead replacement a while ago the Doc actually sewed the pacemaker in place(I have no idea to what it was attached) so now the pacemaker stays put but the excess lead wire does move around and yes it is annoying but I was told that the only fix was more surgery and I am not willing to go there. I was also told that what I am experiencing is the extra wire moving not the part that is attached to my heart.

It can be fixed

There's no question that this problem can be fixed. It is up to you whether it is enough of a problem to be willing to have some additional surgery. This would likely only involve opening the pocket and suturing the pacemaker down like it should have been in the first place. This is nowhere near as involved a surgery as the original implant.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
