pacer pocket problems

hi!

i was wondering if anyone's pacer has shifted its position and what was done about that. i have had my pacer put under the pectoralis muscle at the end of february, and just a few days ago i started to have some pain and then all of a sudden one could also feel the pacer edge in my left armpit. all of my doctors agree that the pacer pocket has opened up to the left side which is why the pacer moved. the surgeon says he can't understand why it opened up because apparently he had stitched it up very well.

so, now the situation is that i don't want the pacer to stay in that place because it's so uncomfortable and hurts (i'm also afraid that it might shift a little more, especially when exercising), my EP professor wants revision-surgery, too, but the surgeon and the pacer doc would like to wait a while. they believe the whole situation might improve on its own.

what would you do or what was done in your case? any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
inga

Sounds like you are being fobbed of. If it has moved how can it go back to it's normal position without being anchored?

i think i will

hey,
thanks for the input!
that's what everyone asks me: how should it go back into the old pocket? when i got them right, my cardios don't really believe that it will go back to it's normal position, but rather that i'll get used to the new position. they also said that it might hurt because it has just moved, but that the pain will go away after a while. i don't think so. so, yes, i'll have another surgery done.
