Rollercoasters

Today I went to Kennywood amusement park here in Pittsburgh. I rode 2 wooden rollercoasters, The Racer, and the Jack Rabbit. I could not ride the big one (Phantom's Revenge) because the sign stated it contained magnets. I did have fun though, and I made sure I did not over do it, since I only had surgery a month ago. So for those who wonder - I did survive. There are so many other things and smaller rides that kept me busy as well. I also got to show my nifty little pacemaker card to bypass the walk thru security for the first time. They did not even wand me, just asked me for my card, then looked at my card and said ok, and off I went no questions asked.

Um, a month out is a bit soon to be on a coaster!!!! Next summer go for it, but you could dislodge a lead this soon. I'm glad you're ok, but please hold off a bit longer before doing that again.

They won't use wands on us because they're just smaller versions of the big metal detectors, we will set them off and they can damage a pm. Airports will do a pat down. I've found courthouses and federal buildings just wave me on through.

After allowing enough time for full healing, everything you said is very true. Four weeks post op, you can most definitely do some damage on a coaster.

Great!

Unless your hanging from the undercarriage of the roller coaster you are not going to do anything to your pacemaker. Smart move to avoid the "magnet" coaster.

Live your life like you are. Go back again. Kennywood is a great old time park. Glad to see your post.
